Site Accessibility

The Seti Nadi-3 Hydroelectric Project site is accessible via highways and airways. If travelling by road, it's approximately 913 kilometres away from Kathmandu. On the other hand, by air, reaching the site involves two consecutive flights from Kathmandu to Dhangadi and then from Dhangadi to Bajhang.

This dual accessibility offers multiple travel options for reaching the project site, ensuring convenience for those involved in its development or visitors to observe its progress.

Project Status

  • The Detailed Project Report (DPR) was completed by Chilime Engineering and Services Company Limited (ChesCo) in December 2022.
  • Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT): A 2D-ERT survey was conducted in the headworks, settling basin, peaking pond, adit tunnel, surge shaft, and powerhouse areas, covering a total of 3,185 meters.
  • Core drilling work (Approximately 900 meters), in-situ tests, laboratory tests, and core loggings of the soil and rock were carried out.
  • The survey of construction materials and various lab tests has been completed. The required construction materials are readily available on the river banks of Seti Nadi-3 HEP.
  • Energy locking and grid connection agreements with NEA have been completed and the PPA is in its final stage.
  • The connection point of the project will be at the Chainpur Hub Substation 400/132 kV planned to developed by RPGCL which is about 12 km from powerhouse.
  • EIA has been approved on 2080/08/25 by the Ministry of Forest and Environment (MoFE).
  • More than 92% of the land acquisition of private land required for the project and their compensation payments have been completed. The land leasing process has started for acquiring Government land. The summary of private land acquired and compensation payment  completed are as shown in below table:

Power Evacuation and Transmission

The generated power from the Seti Nadi-3 Hydroelectric Project will be evacuated using a Double Circuit 132 kV Transmission Line with Bear conductor, stretching approximately 12 km from the powerhouse to the proposed Chainpur Hub Substation of 400/132 kV.

Company's Future Plan

Chilime Seti Hydropower Company (CSHC) is focused on several key initiatives:
    • Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA): Engaging in negotiations and formalizing agreements with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for the purchase of generated power.
    • Financial Closure: Working closely with financial institutions to conclude necessary 70% debt for the project’s construction.
    • Contractor Selection: In the process of Tender Document finalization.
    • Site Preparation: Establishment of site office is in process to enhance the project construction.
    • Land Acquisition: Acquire the remaining private Land and Securing necessary government land through leased process. Additionally, implementing permanent boundary demarcation and fencing for the acquired land.
    • Infrastructure Development: Conducting a study for the construction of a link road connecting the existing road to the project area.
